The ancient translation of potpourri comes from the French and translates to mean “rotten pot”.

Potpourri recipes and functions can be found in the writings of almost every culture and time period. They have been used as perfumes as fragrance signified wealth, and Monks have used potpourri as well as healing tool to their patients.

Today we use potpourris to give a wonderful fragrance to our homes or offices. You can even place a small amount in your car to keep it smelling clean and fresh.

The art of creating fragrant potpourris today has every bit of worth as it did back in the early years.
